Visual Arts

My Visual Arts practice spans drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography, mixed media and time-based art. Through my studies at Edith Cowan University, I have completed projects in observational and self-portrait drawing, acrylic landscape painting, mixed-media collage, drypoint etching, linocut and relief printmaking, ceramic vessels, found-object impressions, sculptural forms and three-dimensional textile work. I approach artmaking through experimentation, technical development and an interest in character, identity, transformation and visual storytelling.

My background in hairdressing, specialist makeup, theatrical wig design, costume and creative production brings an additional dimension to my practice. It has developed my understanding of colour, form, texture, composition and the creation of complete visual concepts for editorial, runway, stage, film, events and performance. My university studies have further strengthened my practical and curriculum knowledge, including a High Distinction of 91% in Planning and Teaching Secondary Art Education and a High Distinction in Ceramics Studio.

As an educator, I aim to create an inclusive studio environment where students feel confident experimenting with unfamiliar materials, developing personal ideas and learning through the creative process. I combine explicit demonstrations and practical guidance with opportunities for independent decision-making, reflection and refinement.
