Media & Time Based Art

My media and time-based practice spans photography, digital imaging, image manipulation, animation, video, sound and moving-image production. Through my studies at Edith Cowan University, including Photography and Digital Imaging, Reconfigured Images and Time-based Art, I have developed experience using the camera, Photoshop and Procreate to construct, edit and sequence visual narratives.

Projects have included Perfectly Innocent, a mixed-media digital portrait examining facial manipulation and constructed beauty, and a stop-motion-style animation combining a Marie Antoinette-inspired figure with flashes of coloured smoke. My current time-based practice also explores family relationships, motherhood, memory, grief and the emotional connections created between generations through archival photographs, video, sound and personal narrative.

As an educator, I encourage students to consider how composition, lighting, editing, movement, duration and sound influence meaning. I combine explicit technical instruction with opportunities for students to experiment, develop personal ideas and refine how effectively their media choices communicate with an audience.
